Journeyman Instrumentician - Rate of pay - $44.50/hr.

This position requires completion of a formal apprentice program or an equivalent number of years of education and/or experience. 

Applicants must be able to assemble, install, test, and maintain instruments consisting of automatic control valves, valve actuators, valve positioners, transmitters (pneumatic and electronic) and test equipment using hand tools and power tools. 

Troubleshoot/Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.   Inspect instruments, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for calibration or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. 

Candidate must be able to test instrument-controlled systems and continuity of low voltage circuits (120VAC and 24Vdc) in electrical wiring, and equipment using testing devices such as voltmeters, communicators, and, manometers to ensure compatibility, safety and proper operation of the system process. 

Candidate must be experienced with troubleshooting, testing and calibration of process control loops and be able to read and work from schematics and prints and the use of these to aid in troubleshooting. 

Candidate must have working knowledge of HVAC (refrigeration systems) and processes involving Pressure Safety Valves (PSV) and rupture discs.  Candidate must also have strong understanding of safe work practices including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment and processes.  Must be able to climb ladders and work from elevated equipment.

All new Journeyman Instrumenticians must be able to qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
