Job Description

This position requires Journeyman card/certificate or equivalent experience of 8 years on the job. 

Qualifications and skills required for the position are:

  • Performs corrective and preventative maintenance work on machine tools and mechanical equipment and processes.
  • Performs general maintenance work to inspect, clean, test, repair, assemble, adjust and replace mechanical and process equipment and structure. Tasks may include install and maintain mechanical equipment, repair pumps, gear drives, compressors, blowers, filters, dryers, conveyors and centrifuges. 
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical seals, mag drive pumps.  Must be able to disassemble, inspect, assemble, and troubleshoot centrifugal pumps, motors, lobe blowers, split case pumps, fans, multistage pumps, vertical pumps, gear boxes, belt drives, conveyor systems, and other types of rotating equipment. 
  • Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. 
  • Must be able to perform shaft alignments, track conveyor belts, and align belt drive systems. 
  • Must have knowledge of rigging equipment including chain falls, hoist, slings, and other rigging hardware. 
  • Must have knowledge of sound lubrication practices. 
  • Must be able rebuild and troubleshoot equipment using drawings and manuals. 

We offer a competitive wage & benefits package, including health care, savings plan, paid vacation & paid holidays.  The starting Journeyman rate is $44.50/hr.  Successful completion of background checks, drug screens & pre-employment medicals are a requirement of the position.  Candidate must be able to work any shift.  All new Journeyman positions require candidates to qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
