SUMMARY
 

This is a supervisory level role serving as the production unit equipment owner; assuring equipment is maintained as necessary for efficient operations.  The role of this position is also to ensure environmental, health, safety, and security (EHS&S), process safety management (PSM), and quality management system (QSM) standards are met.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Write work notifications. Ensure maintenance work is identified, and notifications are written.
  • Communicate daily with the Operations/ Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) on job priorities
  • Review operating data (laboratory data, logbooks, log sheets, notes, Tiered accountability boards, etc.
  • Write notes and instructions for the Operators and Shift Supervisors
  • Assist the Unit Trainer in standard operating procedure (SOP) reviews and development
  • Function as the equipment owner of the equipment and develop plans to get equipment inspected. (Taken out of service, cleared, cleaned, etc.)
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in processing and/or the development of a product.
  • Be involved in operator training as needed
  • Initiate Management of Change (MOC) items
  • Order operating supplies
  • Participate in the incident investigation process as necessary
  • Perform the role of the secondary contact for permitting (Hot work, confined space entry) behind the shift supervisor.  This will be based on the shift supervisor’s work load.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of process operations experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Proficiency in computer/network applications
  • Work well in a team environment, balance multiple projects, and be able to make effective decisions
  • Self-starter requiring little direct supervision
  • Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
  • A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.  Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
