DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support New Product Development team to measure, prepare, and test pipe and fittings specimens.
- Design and fabricate new fixtures for testing pipe and fittings.
- Create new mechanical designs for pipe and fittings.
- Manage the creation of new 3D printed samples, and conduct 3D scans of parts.
- Complete mechanical tests to measure material properties and mechanical performance.
- Summarize results, draw conclusions, recommend next steps and draft test reports
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years in a College Level Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering program.
- Availability to work Summer into the Fall 2023 Semester
- Experience with 3D modeling, preferably in Solidworks.
- Experience with hand tools e.g. hand drills and routers.
- Hands on material and mechanical testing skills via lab classes or experience
