SUMMARY

The Associate Human Resources Business Partner encompasses a diverse mix of human resources initiatives, operational processes and procedures, tactical issues and employee relations efforts.  This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting plant management HR related activities and is the HR point of contact at the plant. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs

  • Coordinates the recruitment process for all hourly positions from requisition through hire and onboarding.  This includes, recruiting efforts, interviews, pre-employment testing, offers and onboarding

  • Conducts new hire orientations and fosters positive impressions of the business unit

  • Administers salary and hourly compensation programs to ensure compliance and equity within the client group

  • Creates and oversees all employee recognition events and participates in activities to foster a positive and welcoming environment

  • Coordinates the hiring and orientation for temporary personnel and is the main contact with vendors

  • Process payroll and is the admin for the plant time and attendance system

  • Utilize Workday (HRIS) to track and conduct HR functions including recruiting, offers, terminations and performance management and is the HRIS contact for employees and supervisors

  • Responsible for local plant administrative duties including (but not limited to) HR related invoicing, bulletin board maintenance, and HRIS

  • Participate in college career fairs and job fairs

  • Plant is a 24/7 operation and this position is expected to be available to all staff when necessary

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree with two plus years of professional experience in a HR generalist role with knowledge and/or exposure to recruiting, employee compensation, benefits and performance management.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, high level of attention to detail and adaptability to changing business requirements

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Able to work with people in various levels within the organization

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and experience with Workday a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.  Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
