Maintenance Mechanic III / Electrician
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic III /Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing all existing electrical equipment in production areas and troubleshooting PLC's while ensuring all company safety rules and policies are followed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Comply with Company Safety Policies
Maintain and repair all existing equipment in production areas and troubleshooting
Utilize troubleshooting techniques to analyze, detect, and determine the nature of a problem, and extent of repairs required
Actively participate in the preventative maintenance program
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards
Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies by utilizing lean and 5s principles
Follow and enforce company safety policies and procedures always and operate wide variety of manufacturing tools
Work with company engineering on electrical upgrade and new equipment installs
Capable of utilizing mobile equipment: pallet jack, forklift, scissor lift, boom lift
Execute maintenance related inspections and report accordingly
Must place the upmost importance on working safely, and maintain a safe work environment for self and others, always
Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Close attention to detail and organized
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to work independently and as a team
Must be well organized, and able to complete, and perform work orders
Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and Software
Basic knowledge of Siemens PLC hardware and software
Basic knowledge of Gas burner controls
Good knowledge of windows Microsoft Office (excel, word, power point, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and motor controls
Team player, reliable and high work integrity
Good communication skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
Working near moving mechanical parts
Loud noise
Exposure to airborne particles within a manufacturing operation
Lifting heavy materials, up to 50 pounds
Climb and work occasionally at heights
General manufacturing environment
May require overtime work as necessary
Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled
Ability to stoop, bend, walk, stand, sit, reach and climb
Will be expected to conduct all assigned tasks scheduled by supervisor
Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
