SUMMARY

Repair and maintain mechanical equipment utilized in our manufacturing process and facility. 

Repair and maintain machinery such as pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment.

Ability to fabricate - set up -layout & weld.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Knowledgeable in the areas of Lock-Out Tag-Out and Arc Flash Safety NFPA 70E.
  • Identify and replace defective components and mechanical parts.
  • Align, adjust and calibrate equipment according to specifications.
  • Assist in evaluation of new equipment as requested.
  • Experienced using and understanding Volt/OHM meter, amp meter.
  • Experienced to read and understand schematic diagrams/drawings.
  • Work from elevated platforms.
  • Assist in maintaining and refurbishing existing plant equipment.
  • Test and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical devices.
  • Assist in the installation of mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or lead.
  • Able to work a scheduled 8 hr. shift.

  • Education/Knowledge

Associate degree in mechanical technology, or two years related experience and/or certification and experience.

  • Experience

Experience with Blending and Extrusion equipment preferred, but not required.

  • Skills

Experienced to read schematics and interpret technical manuals. Experienced to fabricate and weld is a plus.

  • Communication

Communicate in writing and orally with supervisors, leads, and other employees. Carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, and other employees of the organization. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Other Requirements

Must be able to take direct responsibility of workmanship and possess high standard of competence. Use own personal hand tools are necessary specialty tools will be provided.

Salary

  • $27.17 to $31.52 an hour; salary based on experience

Hours

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 am- 3:00 pm; must be available for on call after hours (nights and weekends)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $27.17 to $31.52. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
