Westlake Housing & Infrastructure Products has an opening for a Material Technician in our Molding Department.

The schedules for this position are:

Night Shift- 7:00 PM-7:00 AM (36-48 hours per week rotating schedule).  A $2.00 Shift Differential is paid for every night shift hour worked.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Trains and relieves machine operators as needed
  • Fills in for the Lead during their absence, including performing color changes, quality checks, and become familiar with mold changeovers
  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators
  • Dumps by hand materials such as colors or plastic, into machine hoppers or move product by hand onto scrap pallets
  • Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products
  • Reads spread sheets to determine specific material requirements at changeovers
  • Performs necessary maintenance and repair on some equipment used
  • Responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment
  • Prepares and maintains records of product movement
  • Pulls raw materials and finish product from various locations for manufacturing orders
