Summary: The Maintenance Reliability Intern is responsible for providing support to the Maintenance Reliability team through accurate data entry and the development of technical documentation. This role will contribute to enhancing the reliability and efficiency of maintenance operations at Westlake Corporation. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and a foundational understanding of technical concepts related to maintenance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and manage maintenance data in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring all information is up-to-date and correctly recorded.
  • Assist in the creation and revision of technical documentation, including maintenance procedures, work instructions, and reliability reports.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to gather information and translate technical information into clear, user-friendly documents.
  • Support the maintenance planning and scheduling process by preparing and organizing necessary documentation and data.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancement through data analysis.
  • Participate in special projects related to maintenance reliability as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a technical, engineering, or related field at an accredited university or college.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software (specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
  • Strong academic performance and interest in the field of Industrial Maintenance or Reliability Engineering.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems to determine root cause.
  • Self-motivated with the dedication and drive to initiate and succeed in both individual and team settings.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts in a practical manner.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills with the ability to create clear and concise documentation.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • This role primarily operates in an office environment but may require occasional visits to manufacturing or plant sites.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
