ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and oversees training of safety policies and procedures and strictly enforces them.
  • Reviews open Production Orders and verifies that child component inventories, labor, equipment and consumables are available to ensure adherence to the Production Schedule.
  • Accurately enters daily production data into SAP and internal spreadsheets.
  • Works with Production Planners to maintain inventory levels, estimate lead times, optimize productivity and minimize labor costs by directing workflow to advantageous workcenters, reduce setup time by sequencing similar part families and consolidating identical processes and prioritize Production Orders to satisfy delivery dates.
  • Works with Superintendent to set daily/weekly/monthly performance goals, clearly communicates goals to employees and submits reports on progress.
  • Monitors daily/weekly/monthly employee productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Ensures that technical training is provided for Operators and updated as needed.
  • Identifies Continuous Improvement opportunities in areas such as productivity, 5S, workflow, data collection and operations and participates in the Profit Improvement Program to suggest and implement solutions.
  • Identifies and communicates errors in Technical Documentation, SAP Routings and Master Data.
  • Ensures that correct and current Technical and Quality Documentation is provided and accurately completed at correct frequencies during each shift.
  • Enters and follows up on Maintenance Work Orders.
  • Receives and thoroughly documents complaints and resolves problems.
  • Maintains Timekeeping in Workday, attendance documentation and personnel records.
  • Expedites materials through Quality inspection and Rework processes as needed.
  • Performs daily audit of SAP Storage Locations for Work-In-Progress (1900), Quality Inspection (4000) and Blocked Stock (6000) and manages disposition.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting supply chain failures to involved departments, Purchasing and/or Planners.
  • Work with SAP Analysts to correct SAP issues and improve functionality.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing additional assigned tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be familiar with manufacturing processes and technical documentation, planning work flow and production schedules, inventory control methods, production reporting processes, quality control requirements and instruments and continuous improvement practices.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication including email and other digital platforms.
  • Must be a flexible team player and very detail oriented.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Minimum of H.S. Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's in a related discipline preferred; 5 years PVC extrusion or fabrication experience; technical training in CNC programming; two years manufacturing supervisory experience helpful. Experience with SAP, Workday, DataPass and EPDM a plus. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to sit.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid/cold conditions and moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
