Warehouse Supervisor
Job Description
SUMMARY
Have overall responsibility for the receiving of all raw material, purchased finished material, internal production material, organizing the warehouse and deliver what is needed to the shipping department. Lead the warehousing team to meet or exceed the operational and financial goals set out for the operation. Develop a culture of continuous improvement for safety, employee engagement and retention, quality and production - the drive to continually get better. Able and willing to learn, promote, and deploy all safety, HR, quality, financial, and operational policies and procedures. Must be able to hire, develop, train, maintain, and promote our best people for the department. Maintain our production and building assets to ensure long term sustainability. Manage both internal and external customer chain.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain a safe working environment for all employees and ensure that employees follow established safety rules to ensure the goal of zero injuries
- Conduct a daily to communicate safety, quality, engagement production issues.
- Work with the production staff to receive and organize all finished goods.
- Implement and maintain a scanning system according to the highest standard of IT department.
- Work with the shipping department to deliver Just In Time what finished goods the shipping department needs; correct product, quantity, at the right time, at the right location, and in perfect conditions.
- Work with production to reduce the number of change overs at the extrusions.
- Work with the supply chain and the logistic department to receive and ship out and store raw material efficiently.
- Continuously work to improve the need for manual labor in the warehouse.
- Responsible for planning and directing the layout of equipment, workflow, processing methods, and work force utilization.
- Develop a data driven culture to make logical and timely decisions.
- Assist SO&P in completing and improving the cycle count and inventory management.
- Administer company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
- Maintain constructive working relationships with employees and supervisors/managers
- Able and willing to cover for other supervisors, managers, leadhands and others as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have had 5 years in relative experience
- Understanding of inventory and cycle courting
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) preferred
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Ability to lead a large team of hourly employees
- Excellent/strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Proficient computer skills, with good working knowledge of all standard company applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must have a valid forklift license
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks
- Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willing and able to work with JDE system and other enterprise softwares
- Must be able to work an 8-hour shift (Day, Afternoon or Night shift schedule)/40 hours per week at a minimum
